Visitor

Requirement:

EYFS 2021 > Premises > 3.63

Occasionally we may have visitors to our nursery whilst providing care. During this time, we will responsibly ensure the suitability of visitors that come into the nursery.

Procedure (how we will put the policy into practice)

In accordance with our Child Protection Policy policy, we will:

• Keep a record of visitors who come into the setting using our Visitor Record sheet which is available for you to inspect
• Not allow people whose suitability has not been checked to have unsupervised contact with children who are being cared for by us
• We will ask for identification of anyone we do not know (e.g. gas meter reader) and will refuse entry if we are unsure of them
• Any regular visitors to the setting who will have unsupervised contact with children will be asked to undertake a DBS check
• We will not leave a child in a room alone with a visitor, unless we know they have been DBS cleared, for example another Ofsted Registered Childminder
• We will not allow any visitors to take our minded children to the toilet or change their nappies
• Where possible, we will arrange for any maintenance work to the property to be carried out at weekends and during non-minding hours
