Our children broke the normal birthday tradition of eating cake. Instead, children celebrated the Queen’s 91st birthday with a difference. In the presence of around 100 Harrow based senior citizens from Lohana Community of North London (LCNL), the children sang a birthday song to Her Majesty the Queen. A rather large cake was then cut and served by the children to all present.
In our nursery we teach our children the importance of respecting our elders and what better way than share a cake with the senior citizens of LCNL. It is so important that living in Britain, we teach young children to celebrate the best of what makes us British. And certainly celebrating Queen’s birthday is a great British tradition.
